We now have all the gear assembled 👌 you may know that I’ve been wanting a glass cabinet for a super long time, so I’m stoked to have this canvas ready 😁 I also wanted to hang the light so I got a company to custom make them for me, and then fixed them to plywood timber boards.

Freshwater clams are certainly not the most obvious choice among aquarium species. They are also not the most popular choice among mollusks. However, freshwater clams can be a great visual addition to your tank. Before deciding on them, it`s good to know under what conditions they feel best.
👉 Freshwater aquarium clams prefer tanks with stable water parameters and high oxygen levels.
👉 They feel best in areas where the water flow is moderate and continuous, allowing them to get enough nutrients from the water column.
👉 A small group of 5 clams is sufficient for a 5-gallon aquarium.
👉 Having live plants in the aquarium is possible and recommended.
👉 Lighting doesn`t play any role here.
👉 Clams are sensitive to certain components of plant fertilizers, especially copper, which is lethal for them.
👉 The best substrate is sand, regardless of color or granularity, and they can even bury themselves in coarse gravel.
👉 They feel best in water temperatures of 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit.
👉 Good tank mates for them are Amano shrimp, red cherry shrimp, Nerite snails, Rabbit snails, and Corydoras.
👉 Clams mainly feed on very fine debris from the substrate and their diet consists of decomposing matter floating in the water column. Avoid overfeeding them.
👉 They require regular pH checks in the aquarium.
👉 Clams effectively remove various forms of suspended algae.
👉 They have very low activity levels.
👉 Be cautious; it`s hard to distinguish healthy freshwater clams from sick ones.

Borneo Island almost 7 weeks old, the Rotalas had a trimming 2 times already. The pogostemon erectus is slightly growing denser and denser and I don`t want them to grow to high also.the vesicularia ferriei weeping moss is growing very well and gone be trimmed comming weekend. I cut all the leaves of the microsorum trident to let it`s grow directly submers and finer leaves. Overall I`m very happy how it`s developing.
